It's the soft opening of the day on Taun, Lombok (Indonesia). The sun was just about to rise. Some stars were still lingering on the sky. So was the town and ships across. The lights were still glittering, as if they wished to sleep in.

Taun Before Sunrise

My favorite moments are the minutes before sunrise and the minutes after sunset. If I'm lucky with the weather, the sky will usually be like a grande painting hovering above. I imagine a giant brush dipped into miraculous paint, and then swept swiftly on the giant canvas. So does it look today.

Taun Sunrise

Taun or also called Sekotong Barat, is in Lombok. I woke up when it was still dark, set up my tripod and camera, and started to shoot. The beach was fortunately just in front of my cottage.

Sunset on Tonle Sap lake - Homebound Boy

Boy living in the flloating Village on Tonle Sap lake paddling back home at sunset. Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia . The Tonlé Sap is unusual for two reasons: its flow changes direction twice a year, and the portion that forms the lake expands and shrinks dramatically with the seasons. Incredible experience !
