this adorable, local shopkeeper talked me into buying alot of early christmas gifts for my mother,even though he is muslim.

This is the Auroville Earth Institute. It specializes in CSEB,Compressed Stabilized Earth Block, it is cheap,sustainable,beautiful and lasts a really, really long time. The training courses also include AVD, info on Arches, Vaults and Domes.

we took our little soire to a new meditation hall that was being built on a piece of property outside town. they are planning on doing a library, health clinic guest houses, and the pond(not in photo) will be a fountain and reflection pool

this is the inside of the monolith. it is still used. i think it was built around the beginning of the 7th century
A monolith is a geological or technological feature such as a mountain, consisting of a single massive stone or rock. Erosion usually exposes these formations, which are most often made of very hard and solid metamorphic rock. (Its in Aurangabad at the Ellora Caves)

the monk in the orange is my favorite guy. he didn't understand a lick of english, but we rested alot together on the way up to the buddhist caves and we shared a pepsi together.
we came to this place near some ancient caves and were amazed at how sweet and loving the monks were to us for three whole days. feeding us, letting us tag along and showing us all the great things about Aurangabad.

we shared a cabin with them on our train south. They shared their generosity with us.

This is inside a lesser known tomb near the taj mahal. The Taj was built out of love by Shah Jahan, a moghul ruler, for his wife. This picture is of the inside if his father-in-law's tomb.
our guide calls this the "black face monkey", he also took the picture,if you can't tell its me. I am feeding the very aggressive monkey.
