Some of the tanks are Russian, German and some newer than WWII. Basically whatever they could get to display.

Just inside the entrance is the work area and the tools that Steve & Heater Bice use to carve the ice sculptures. Steve is a 16 times champion ice carver, Heather 7 time champ.
They originally wanted an ice hotel. It did not work and they went with an ice sculpture museum instead.
For $15 you can have a appletini in an ice goblet at the Aurora Ice Bar. We passed.

Otto the Polar Bear is at the entrance to the exhibits. Shot in 1951, donated in 1980 to UAF. Named after Otto Geist, one of the founders of the Museum.

Bald Eagle. The old meaning of 'bald' was 'white headed.' The Bald Eagle is the National Bird of the USA. Their numbers have increased enough that the Bald Eagle was taken off the Endangered Species List in 1995. It was taken off the Threaten Species List in 2007.
Mammoth skull on display. Many Woolly Mammoth and Mastodon frozen carcasses have been found in AK & Siberia. Early man were in AK when the Mammoths roamed the earth and learned how to hunted them
The Gift Shop has many dinosaur bones and replicas. I bought a calendar there of the NLs. Beautiful shots that non pros will never see or get.
