Impossible to capture fully this place on film. It exceeded our expectations even with the huge build up we had. If you are going to go, go early. If you get the chance, climb the mountain behind, Waynapicchu for truly spectacular views of the area.

Westbury White Horse

The Westbury white horse is the oldest of the Wiltshire horses. There has been a white horse here for at least 300 years. It is high on a very steep slope and overlooking a panoramic view. It is on Westbury Hill, on the edge of the Bratton Downs, immediately below the Iron Age hillfort of Bratton Camp.

A thirsty moment in the tropics

Desparate for drink Bill climbed to the top of a huge palm tree, kicked the largest coconut out of the bunch , jumped to the beach below and chewed the top off with his historically sharp ensisors to get at the precious milk nectar within.

Desolationist

Early morning clouds cling to the treetops, drifting like a ghost into the rising sun. Walking through this etheric mist, I caught this lone pine in my hazy sight. It appeared in the fog like a stoic castle before disappearing again in the consuming breath of the sky.
