The crew baked me a cake
My Tianjin friends kindly paid for my train tickets up to Tianjin to celebrate my birthday again as they couldn't come down to Qingdao on my actual birthday. I had an awesome time - here's us about to embark on what looks like a fairly sedate ride but it was scream-inducing. I've never been one for holding back.
We went to a restaurant recommended by Jasmine, my mentor teacher, which looked like the Globe Theatre in London. Really nice decor and great food to boot! My pen pal from Hangzhou also came at this time and we celebrated a double birthday (cringe...). It's my favourite restaurant in Qingdao and I've since been there 3 times.

Obviously, I made mistakes on my Chinese letter, but it shows great effort. I was going to handwrite the English version but I ran out of time. No matter, my efforts were heartwarming.
I wanted to give my mom the pictures with the most meaning (and the ones where I don't look so bad) and I'm more than happy to print these pictures. I think they show everything that is valuable to my host mom, especially her children. She has truly done so much for me, especially letting me have my freedom. I couldn't ask for more.
If you assemble all these pieces, they fit inside a plain pink envelope.
