Arriving in the town of Hanginan, a town on the top of a mountainous area usually visited as a pilgramage, this boy saw an American and took the opportunity to beg.
In Philippines as well as other countries, soccer is a different sport than the USA. Soccer is more like volleyball, but played with feet and a small ball. Usually played with a net, these kids on the beach of MacArthur were playing soccer without a net.
After coming out of Cerro de Popa we were hungry. All around are family run stalls. This family was just sitting around waiting for more tourists to feed.
We tried so hard after many wrong turns and miscommunications to get the Plaza Bolivar and when we got there, EVERYWHERE in Plaza Bolivar were pigeons. Lots of them. This kid, and many others were feeding them.
