Wonder creation in white marble ..

Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata was built in the memory of Queen Victoria of England. After the demise of Her Majesty, the idea of building a memorial hall in her name was first thought of by the then Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon who left India at the end of 1905. This exquisite marble architecture was designed by Sir William Emerson and was opened in 1921, 5 years ahead of its schedule opening ..

Victoria Memorial Hall was built in the memory of Queen Victoria of England. The building was conceptualised by Lord Curzon who was then Viceroy of India. This marble architecture was designed by Sir William Emerson. The design of the structure represents a fusion of British and Mughal architecture and was inaugurated in the year 1921.
