My friend took us to the top of Cerro De Monserrate and visited this church inside. The architecture was pretty modern.

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception
ST JOHANN NEPOMUK CHURCH - Baroque Catolic Church of St Johann Nepomuk, better known as the Asam Church. It's pretty unusul and has an interesting story. St Nepomuk was built in 18th cent by brothers Asam for private use and it's connectd (share the wall) to their house. The high, narrow interior, mysteriously lit from above, is richly decorated with paint, stuccowork, sculpture, and gilt. The ceiling is decorated with painted figures ascending into a space that seems to transcend architectural boundaries.
Glass Ceiling
The eclipse as we got to see it: a smudge of light reflected on the ceiling. Earth shattering.
The ceiling of one of the galleries that we visited at the Vatican Museum. Actually painted, not carved!

The detailed cornices and mosaics looked like shells! An inspiring place. Read the personal prayer notes if you get a chance - they'll humble you to no end.
The domed ceilings within the Blue Mosque are at least 3 to 4 storeys high - making most visitors feel very humbled by the sheer size of the place!
The arches of old.
I travelled to different parts of Kavir(desert) in Iran. I saw so many Islamic Architectural geometry designs on the ceilings and facades of mosques and old buildings that made me VERY surprised. Of course I was not able to record all of these beauties with my little compact digi camera, but tried to capture these beauties with best of my photography abilities ! For those people who have not been in Iran and would like to learn more about the Islamic Architectural geometry, I managed to get the following sites from Yahoo search: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=7544360 http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceNews/idUSN2245118920070222?pageNumber=2 http://www.rferl.org/featuresarticle/2007/02/027d03ee-3fee-47e0-a65b-7cc9b2ad54e7.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_architecture
