How often do you see these signs back home? I've actually seen at least a couple dozen of them
The mighlty Mekong separates Champassak and Pakse in southern Laos. The popular mode of transport to cross the river is the ferry which plies between Ban Muang and Pha Pin.The vehicular ferry takes about half hour from one point to the other, depending on the river current. To the uninitiated the crossing can be pretty scary in the rickety ferry. You pay 2,000 kips (USD1=10,000 kips)to board the ferry. From Pha Pin,Champassak town is about 6km and from Ban Muang, Pakse is about 40km. The quiet dusty town of Champassak is noted among travellers for the pre-Angkorian Wat Phu ruins,a World Heritage project. The town sleeps by 10pm.
Aboard the ferry from Southampton to the Isle of Wight.
