Worm soup (actually "luon" which are small, thin eels) are a Vinh speciality..

... and Van decided it would be a great idea to call us at 6.20 a.m. and announce she and her father were coming to collect us in half an hour and taking us for breakfast at THE place in Vinh for speciality of the area.

The sharpest and biggest pencil sharpner I've seen

We went to visit a primary school which Van's father helped to raise funds for in a neighbouring village but it serves a huge catchment area.

Lunchtime: how many people helped to put food and drink in front of me???

This photo is a bit dark and tricky to get it lighter but it just captures the generosity of everyone and what fun we had that weekend! I've learnt to keep a bit of food in my bowl if I've had enough or it will just keep being filled. I managed to avoid the raw jellyfish salad.
