The Danuble
View from the castle: houses & the Danuble river.
a man beneath a (really large) tree, surveying a dog on the danube.
i think half the reason i took this picture, is because it reminded me of the movie, "black cat, white cat" - insane, but awesome, it reminds me of a song..otherwise, it probably just looks like some trees and water to anyone else. sorry about that. but it's like a symphony..
the danube stretching out.
this is a tunnel near the danube river in belgrade. a little while before we came there, there was a flooding of the danube - the water rose so much, that it flooded this tunnel....this is about 200 meters away from the river.
View from Várhegy (Castle Hill) in Buda.
In the foreground is "Shoes on the Danube Promenade" a memorial to the victims of the Arrow Cross militiamen who were shot into the river in 1944-45.

On the Danube, near a small village, there's a small dock - the wood coming out of the water is what the little boats are presumably tied to. For a long time, I wasn't sure why there was "cure" written on the sign...until recently I remebered that "cura" is a slang word for "chick" (the woman kind) and that "cure" basically means lots of them - even though there were not many boats there when we were there. Amazing area, though.
I made this photographie while I was visiting old Ivanovo village. At this moment, Ivanovo is evacuated because they are expecting that Danube will flood the village. But some people do not want to leave their homes and animals so they stayed. One of that people is this shepherd. Those sheeps are all he has.
We were shocked when we got to the view at the top of the hill - on the other side of the river, the communist era buildings show a totally different city.
