The front of the Akosombo Dam, holding back the largest man-made body of water in the world, the Volta Lake. 6 pen-stocks (left) chanel water down from the lake to turn 6 83-ton carbines, generating massive amounts of hydro-electricity which serves Ghana, Burkina Faso, Togo and Cote d'Ivoire. The dam itself contains no cement, made only from clay and stone, and constructed within 3 years, with construction 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
