zzzzzzz..... *snort!* *snort!* zzzzzz.....
could have stayed many days...
Only 15 kilometers to go!
And up we go! And down, and up... and down again.. and up... and phew! this is tiring just typing about!
With authentic fake Starbucks mugs and authentic fake Starbucks coffee, which was authentically fakely delicious!
One of the two is better for carrying large chucks of dessicated meat from town to town in the hot sun.. can you guess which one?
Fully stocked with fake Nalgenes.. and other merchandise of dubious origin.
Did you forget to buy anything in Kathmandu? Good! prices are triple here, at best! hee hee hee!
1st night's rest on the way to Everest
Cross your fingers!
on a 60 meter runway leading to a cliff...
At the Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay Airport, 2800 meters
In a twin prop plane... probably held together with duct tape somewhere.
Facing his fear of heights...
It is the peak more or less in the middle with the most wind gusting off the top
Above Namche Bazaar is a small museum at place they call Everest view. Why? Bacause you can just see the very top of Everest poking above the other mountains. We will see it so many more times and from better vantage points in the days to come, but the first sight is still something special.
The view in the morning from our lodge room. Not bad eh?
