The Caretaker's home at the Fairbanks house in Dedham, MA was built using a kit from the Sears Roebuck Catelog in 1929.
We are standing in front the the "Boot Room", an entry way added later to keep the cold out of the main house (& wet, muddy boots)
The main house was built for Johathan and Grace Fairbanke beginning about 1637. It is the oldest timber-frame house in North America. This is in Dedham, MA - on the outskirts of Boston.
The original house was built on a wood foundation, later additions had cellers to store food during the cold New England winters.
In the early 1800's, a later generation of Fairbanks brought another building to the house and added it on so he could have a real 'Parlor'
