The conservatory at the Bellagio lets everyone know that this is year of the rabbit. There are no native species of rabbits in China, but they do have 5 species of hares. 2011 (4708 in China) is really the year of the hare. People born in the year of the hare are: friendly, compassionate, sensitive. They avoid conflict when they can.
There are 12 animals that rotate in the Chinese calender. Add the 5 elements: fire, water, wood, metal, earth that change yearly. There are also 5 colors: white, black, red, green, brown that also change yearly. That makes 2011 the year of the white, metal hare.
