Overall view, spa balcony. The Eli Bridge Ferris Wheel, constructed in 1922, is the centerpiece of the summer '09 display. Ferris Wheel has been used for several years now.

Galvanized watering cans are functional and add a whimsical touch to the north display area. Bluebird Lacecap Hydrangea add color.

Spring has come to Bellagio, center display. This is a French style garden. This style is based on symmetry and the principle of imposing order over nature. Boxes of tulips add color. Deep yellow are Donna Bellas, pink are Fancy Frills, light yellow are Hillstar, the reds are Double Dutch and the orange are Orange Lion tulips.
Japanese Tea House. Japanese Gardens blend harmony with nature, using plants, rocks & water to create areas of quiet beauty. & tranquility.
Early morning is when the workers spruce up the displays. Very few flowers are used in the Japanese Gardens, so he is raking the rock. This is the worst display in the 8 years that I have been taking photos at the Conservatory. Budget cuts I guess.

An Italian Garden represented on the south display area. Italian gardens are villa style with terraces that lead to statues. Again, very few flowers. The small white/red in front are Floral Lace Picotes.

English gardens are usually a chaotic, informal cluster of different flowers and colors. Icelandic poppies & daffodils surround the rock 'ruin'.

The south display features a bronze tree that weeps water out of its leaves. 3,000 cattails are used for a border. Vera Cruz chrysanthemums add the yellow color, red delano the red.
A venus flytrap is open, waiting for an other victim. With the ents & sprites, the fall display has a playful mood to it.

2008 is the year of the rat. The rat is revered for being courageous, fit, enterprising and always surviving. Guzmania Rosie & Yellow Football Mums are used. Yellow Oncidium & pink Cymbidium also seen.
