A flower during my trek in Luang Namtha. I have no idea what it's called but maybe my mum can e-mail me, she'll know its Latin name 'n' everything.
The trekking through the lush jungle was a lot of fun and the foliage was very impressive. We tried a range of fruits, leaves and seeds that our excellent guide introduced us to on our way to visit the Akha hill tribe. I lost count of how many times we crossed this stream!
This was the village we trekked to in Luang Namtha. It is home to 120 people, 60% of whom are children. They are pretty much self-sufficient and live on rice and vegetables that they grow, seeds and fruits from the trees, and small game they catch in the jungle. They have a generator and a loud speaker system in the village.
The water on these leaves were not from rain but from the moisture in the air on Emeishan. It was incredibly humid and the path's were pretty slippy in places.
