Stacked rocks lead the way on French Ridge just outside of Wanaka.
A lovely day, slight breeze, great scenery, and a chance to reflect on my trip. What more could I ask for?
Mt. Aspiring gets lots of rain, and the result is a multitude of cascading waterfalls on all sides of the track (but you only get to see these two).
Wish I had a camera with a wider perspective but...the moon over (don't laugh) Mt. Barff from the top of French Ridge.
The view from French Ridge hut as the sunlight disappears. The cairn leads the way for weary trekkers.
An inquisitive kea, known to terrorize huts and the possessions of hikers. Obviously not a good picture...SORRY!
Some stud next to a cairn and in front of Mt. Whatchamacallit.
Up one night, down the next morning. Angelo and Aurelia lead the way down French Ridge. 1000 meters to the valley floor...gorgeous.
Crossing the river on the way out of French Ridge. Water was moving (fast, that is).
LB as seen on the way down. It is located straight across from French Ridge hut...now all they need is a zip line.
If you were that parched and tired, you'd be sad too. Only two more hours to go on the French Ridge track.
