Very beautiful palace of Nobile Esterhazy family, who patronised to Josef Haydn
Weird Church: overdecorated, shapeless but still beautiful.
a lot of angels in dramatic poses
Haydn Church is a very weird construction, looking like a formless pile of pancakes, tight from inside and over-decorated with sculptures outside.
Little, but quite special town of Eisenstadt. Special because of Haydn lived and created there. Also Eisenstadt is the state capital of Burgenland. In the Habsburg monarchy, Eisenstadt (Kismarton at that time) was the seat of the Eszterházy Hungarian noble family. Actually composer Joseph Haydn lived there as Hofkapellmeister under Esterházy patronage.
Joseph Haydn was buried in this church. It's something unusual in proportions of the building. It "sits" freely lounging, looks non-spiritual, but down to earth and seems more human being then God 's providence..
Eisenstadt is the capital of Burgenland. Interesting for Haydn (musician), Schloss Esterházy, Bergkirche, musical and cultural events.
Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) spent the last twelve years of his life in this house.
