Author Jack London's Wolf House burned down in 1913, a month before the family was to move in. These are the ruins as they look today
The center of the Wolf House would have housed a pool.
The house was 15,000 sq. ft and had 26 rooms and 9 fireplaces. Jack London vowed to rebuild after the fire, but died in 1916. No progress was ever made on the rebuild.
After his death, Jack London's widow built a house using similar materials. This now houses the Jack London Museum.
