Cool Karakul

Karakul Lake by the side of Karakoram Highway on China's part which is the highest paved highway in the world. Karakul Lake is 3600 meters above sea level.

Karakul is surrounded by mountains that are snow-capped all year long. Thus, Karakul actually lies beneath a giant valley. However, Karakul is the highest lake on Pamir Plateau. Karakul is at 3600 m altitude.
