This is the First Order Fresnel Lens at Cape Meares. It is unusual in that it's an eight sided lens with the alternate sides red, to make an alternating red & white pattern.
Finally up close to a west coast lighthouse. It is up on a bluff, so the tower is only tall enough to house the mechanism.

The lighthouse tower is 115 feet tall, 148 feet from sea level, has a 1st Order Fresnel Lens, and is visible from 24 miles at sea. It was built in 1872 and is badly in need of repair/restoration.
This is on Anastasia Island, across the bay from historic St. Augustine. It has a first order Fresnel Lens.

I took this from the Beach at North Beach Campground, in Burlington, VT
It was quite hazy today so I tried the Polorizing filter, this is the best I could do. This was on some rocks across from Hull, MA
This was built in 1875 after several notable shipwrecks in this area. You can stay here for about $200/day.
