LOG CABIN…A barge, stacked with sawn logs harvested from the interior of Marudi Division in Sarawak, Malaysia, makes a slow journey down the Baram River, the country’s second longest river that flows out to the South China Sea. During the journey, which takes weeks, the barge is literally home to the crew. Barges are towed down to vast marshaling areas near the river mouth in an around-the-clock, year-round operation. The Baram River, as a source of food and the only means of transportation through the jungle, is central to the natives' lifestyle, esp the Berawan tribe who eke their living in and around the brackish water lake, Loagan Bunut, 40km from Miri. .
