Met Daniel, the Manatee. He was found as a pup with one lung full of water. The people here took care of him and now he's a 280 kg bull who loves humans, especially the ladies. He swims freely in the laguna Guerrero but he never really leaves to the connecting sea or lagoons. A truly amazing animal, closest relative to the elephant.

Oh wow! The Reserva Biosfera of Calakmul was amazing! On our way to see the archaeological site we saw Spider monkeys, and blue turkeys perhaps? and what looked like a red goffer or some thing :) and that's just walking along the path with out a guide... I would love to go back a spend some time walking though the jungle, I read that there are 4 different kinds of felines including jaguar and ocelot, anteater, alligators and lodes of amazing birds an insects and much more... amazing :)... The Pyramids were, I think, the biggest we've climbed the view from the top was breath taking, and so was the climb ;) They also have a very cool museum in Calakmul which they have put alot of work into, a great source of information.
My boyfriend Scott came to visit me for New Years just before leaving on my bike rise to Chetumal.
