Recently restored using traditional building methods (i.e. no nails)
A feature of medieval British architecture is the 'jetty' where the 2nd floor overhangs the ground floor. This allowed more square footage in the days when home owners were taxed based on the square footage of the ground floor. This jetty is apparently extra crafty as it overhangs in both directions - something made possible with a diagonal brace known as a "Dragon Beam".

The city of Gromo famous for its medieval castle is situated in Seriana Valley and about 26,10 mi from Bergamo and only 7,46 mi from Clusone following the road signs to Valbondione. This town is a typical medieval municipality built on a rock dominating the whole area. In fact the Gromo castle rose in 1226 on the buttress of a rock, in dominant position respect to the river Serio.
