With 24 different minorities in the Meo Vac region, the colours at the market were amazing. I was waist, head and shoulders taller than most of the women at least but no-one looked at me twice: they were all far too intent on selling/buying at the market.
The boys were staring at all the motorbikes lined up and at Ed, lying on his, reading a book. They then kicked the water buffalo on (it runs, rolling from side to side) and the little boys fell off in a heap on the road. It was very funny to watch. How I wished I had videoed them....
Nick had to take a conference call so we all waited for him in this Hmong village. While he was on the phone, we watched village life and I just took photos. Mostly of rear views as the people can be very uncomfortable with the camera for superstitious reasons but it was a great hour, just watching life go by.

We had almost run over a herd of goats being brought up the mountain, in the middle of the road, on a blind corner. She had been helping to herd the goats but stopped as she wanted her photo taken.
He feigned disinterest in us as we stood and admired the view and had a rest but was watching us from the corner of his eye.
