The 'Corderie' is the huge building where the ropes were made for the French Naval Fleets. Lafayette's Fleet set sail from Rochefort to help George Washington during the War for Independence (Revolutionary War). It is near Brouage,birthplace of Samuel de Champlain..the Founder of 'New France' (Quebec,Canada). 4 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean WEst Coast of France..north of Bordeaux.
