We cycled south and to a village in the Tu Lien district. There was a large square with a pagoda at the end, market on the one side and in the middle, where distinctly defined areas of rice laid out drying in the sun.

As part of Hanoi's 1000th birthday, we happened to be in the Temple of Literature when this ceremony was taking place. Regretfully I didn't the chance to find out its significance: I will and I'll post it up!

Pumpkin Festival in Keene. View of the Church. I always get asked if the church is photoshopped in, but it's not, the photo hasn't been tampered with. There is a pumpkin fest every year in the cozy town of Keene. It used to have the world record for the most carved pumpkins in the world but Boston recently stole that title
