This shot was definitely a challenge! I needed to time it just right so the shutter would release at the exact moment that the rotating beam from the lighthouse lined up with the moon, but didn't stay open so long that the light would pass the moon. Simultaneously, I needed to get the correct exposure. If the shutter was left open too long not only would the beam not line up, it would show up as just a flood of light across the sky. If too short a time, I might get the line up correct, but I would lose the detail in the landscape. It took several tries with different adjustments. Finally got it right!
