Grassland Snails

Strange grassland snails... they climb up roadmarker poles like this one, attach themselves to ditch weeds and gaurd rails... they must move at night, because during the day if you poke them, they fall off. The snail is curled up tight into the inside of the shell, which is attached to whatever surface by a dried laer of snail slime.... found them amusing as I was walking out of town to hitch. only saw them in South Australia... in that one area...
