Eating places all around - at good and bad prices but mainly good.
This is in the wonderful Plaza de Cibeles. The protection around the obras meant a reasonable effort at a photo could only be made from the top of a bus!
The Central Market of Hoi An, Vietnam is an institution. A busy, crowded, well-used institution. Between the carts of the vendors, the feet of the shoppers, and the more than occasionally intruding flood waters from the river, the streets of the Central Market are covered in potholes. In an effort to smooth the way, the market vendors have filled the worst potholes with broken flip flops - or perhaps the flip flops just got stuck in a pothole and rather than struggle, the owners left them behind.
Near the Palais Royale, this scene was captured on a side street. It looked like something out of a painting from 100 years ago, but was happening here in 2008.
