Urania was opened in 1910 by Franz Joseph I of Austria as an educational facility with a public observatory. During World War II, the Urania was severely damaged and the dome with the observatory was totally destroyed. Reconstructed and opened for public in 1957, it still uses for lectures, movie festival and various events. Right this weekend it's Latin Festival is running in Urania.
The Urania Observatory is near the Donau Kanal in downtown area of Vienna.
