I am guessing Extreme Iceland goes where this type of vehicle is needed. If I had an unlimited budget, this would be the way to go. This was at Vik when we stopped for lunch.

A DUKW, nicknamed a 'duck'. An amphibious vehicle used in both WWII & Korea. 'Ducks' transport troops from a ship to the beach and then back to the ship for another load. Many are still in use today giving tourists 'duck tours'. I rode one for a tour of the Charles River in Boston.

Great island with lots of dirt backroads for "offroading" with a four wheel drive vehicle - we drove down steep inclines, crossed over small streams, climbed hills, and hubby was in heaven. Nary a soul in sight. The only thing we'd see were wild donkeys.
