We just caught this eagle as he started to rise on a thermal, by the time we'd jumped out of the car he had risen almost out of sight.

Endemic to Great Sand Dunes (i.e. this is the only place in the world it lives). Read about it and saw it in the film at the visitor centre but didn't expect to see one, then I noticed this little fella scurrying around at high speed, fortunately he stood still long enough to be photographed, about 1cm long.
This one was about 4" long.
Group of five female Mule Deer largely ignoring us except for the alert one looking straight at the camera.
