The narrow rail in the ground was used to launch the plane. The first granite marker on the left shows where the plane took off. Each of four flights on Dec. 17, 1903 went a little farther, markers show where each one landed

These are replica's of the two buildings the Wright Brothers used to assemble their plane once they got to Kitty Hawk. They also used tents. The one on the left was the hanger & shop, on the right, their living quarters.
