Boy in Gopane
These are breed of cattle descended from the stock of the original inhabitants of South Africa. After a few days in Milwane I was able to distinguish an impala or nyala from a bontebuck and a wildebeest aka gnu from a roan antelope.

The entrance to the family compound is the white gate on the left of the photo, obscured by orange trees. Because the roads & paths in the village are chaotically random, I use the shape of my mountain to navigate my way home. The bulk of the mountain feels protective (actually it blocks my cell phone signal), and its association with sanctuary has made me fond of it.
