A balcony extended over the canal along Fischerau in Freiburg caught my attention.
Looking east from the cathedral's tower.
Looking north-east from the cathedral's tower.
Looking south-east from the Freiburg cathedral's tower, one has a view down Gerberaustr. to the Schwabentor.
Looking west from the cathedral's tower, one sees the overlapping architecture of Freiburg, notably the Herz-Jesu-Kirche (also called the Stühlinger Kirche) with her twin steeples on the left. Also see the white "Neues Rathaus" in the center foreground, and the red "Altes Rathaus" just to its right.
Looking south-west from the cathedral's tower, Martinstor reaches above the city against the backdrop of the hills of Naturpark Südschwarzwald.
Freiburg wriggles into the southern Black Forest, partially surrounded by the park. See the green pastures on the right? At the foot of that hill lies St. Georgen, the village (which has become part of Freiburg) where I live.
Sweet little statue of a goat in the castle garden of the Passau Burg.
Statue in the Form & Figure exhibit at the Passau Castle.
From the castle, we could see the three colors of the three rivers flowing together in Passau. From top to bottom (lightest to darkest): the Inn, the Donau (Danube), and Ilz.
This view reminded me of visiting castles as a kid, and how entranced I always was!
A shot of the Passau castle from a bridge over the Donau (Danube).
A man in full Bavarian garb fished in the Donau.
Margarethe & Wolfgang in front of the Rathaus.
A statue of three figures in the courtyard of the Passau Dom.
Leaf God!
Red tin fish hung in hoops in an ally in Passau, above a trail of cobble stones painted red as though a red stream trickled down the street, in commemoration of their sister city Akita, Japan.
A view across the River Inn from Passau.
In the alcove of a church on the Inn in Passau.
Just around the bend the Inn converges with the Donau and Ilz rivers.
