The murals in the grand palace I liked, i really didn't like all the flambouyant building and all the gold.
As far as I can tell the murals depict stories of significance
A gold covered statue in the grand palace
This is a fort I found on my way to the grand palace, i liked it more than the palace as it was beautiful in it's simplicity, not extravagent but elegant
Lush tropical plants along the path behind our quite simple hotel.
One of the two types of rice they grow in the hills, and the main part of the villagers' diet.
We stayed overnight in the hill tribe villagesnorth of Chang Mai on our trek, almost unspoilt, this is one of their homes
on our way to our hill tribes trek we visited a beautful waterfall, the power of this waterfall was really incredible
We also visited the temple on the hill near chaing mai, one of the few that i liked, with a huge staircase with dragons going down either side
We visited the first elephant protection programme in Chaing mai (maybe first in Thailand) and fed and watched the elephants.
