Phyllis and I in Halkys. The parties over. this was our trip back to Athens so we could catch our plane the next day. I crossed this bridge behind us when I was a small boy taking a bus to Kimi from Athens.
The garden behind the home. Stamatis is cutting roses for Phyllis. The Hondroyiannis are excellent hosts.
Inside the Stamatis' mothers house. With me are Marika (Stamatis' Mother) Ariathani (his sister) and Demytrys (his brother) Demytris is my age.
Stamatis and Phyllis in Halkys, this was the original brige that connected the island of Evia with the Greek main land
A group picture outside the front of the house, just before a tearful departure. They do not gett any nicer than the Hondroyiannis.
A Kimi Sunrise - I took this picture just before the sun appeared.
Phyllis and I at the water fount in the courtyard.
The Monastery above Kimi. Here Nuns duplicate Icons and lead the monastic life. They were at evening vespers when we arrived.
A beautiful view from a mountain highway outside of Kimi.
We stopped at this place so Phyllis could make a new friend.
The Spring of Kimi. The spicots here are fed by a natural spring with perported healing powers for things such as kidney stones. (Good to Know Sarah). There is a water bottling plant nearby. Sadly the stream near the plant appears to have been polluted by something. The odor on the day we visited was most unpleasant.
Phyllis and Stamatis outside the church
The cemetery and chaple behind the church
This is a small church outside of town. It's dedicated to Mary and in the beatiful little cemetery in back is where Stamatis' Father and Sister lie at rest.
A street in Kimi at dusk. This is a wedding procession.
Upper Kimi as taken from a road nearby.
The monastery courtyard and bell tower.
The view from our room at the Vallenti Hotel. The Accomidations were great and the view was better. Our Stay here was still another gift from our friend Stamatis.
A picture of the the prettiest girl on Sifnos. I saw her sitting in a little taverna.
More countryside
We promised you nudity and Phyllis delivers. Well maybe not what you expcted, but it was the best we could do. After all it was the last day of the cruise and we were getting desparate.
