The 50,000 Rials or 5,000 Tomans is a new bill that came in the hand of people few months ago. In the front bill has picture of the Ayatollah Khomeini and in it's back has Iran map outline with atomic symbol of electrons in orbit symbol. The watermark is Ayatollah Khomeini. The new note for 50,000 Rials, worth the equivalent of about $US5.40, will be the largest in circulation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_rial http://www.travellerspoint.com/photos/stream/size/L/photoID/198620/
"Iranian Great Nuclear Victory", is the main title of Iran, the National Newspaper. This was a BIG NEWS that came up all of over national newspapers all around the country and even in the Middle East region yesterday. At last, Iranian Nuclear Industry won it's case with IAEA and the world. http://www.presstv.ir/Detail.aspx?id=44480§ionid=351020104 http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/E9A36960-AB5A-43E7-A637-4628328249EB.htm?choice=3&dgDiscID=252&dgPoolID=61bc2e68-74fc-4023-adc1-4fc850e60fea
Today is 22 Bahman 1386 coincide with February 11, 2008 with marks the 29th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran. This day brings remembrance of the fact that the will of a nation can change the course of history, of a time when one nation stood up for its rights and would not be intimidated into accepting tyranny of Shah any longer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Iranian_Islamic_revolution http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=42539§ionid=3510304 http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8611220410 http://www.ahmadinejad.ir/ .
Laughter is good for you. It is a very powerful force that positively affects the whole body. The breath released during a hearty laugh has been clocked at speeds as fast as 170 miles per hour. Laughter stimulates the brain, the nervous system, the respiratory system, the hormonal system, and the muscular system. Numerous studies show that it lowers blood pressure, lightens depression, increases muscle flexion, can reduce allergy symptoms, strengthens the immune system, and reduces stress! http://www.laughteryoga.org/index.php http://www.blueridgespirit.com/Articles/laughter_let_it_out.htm http://www.holistic-online.com/Humor_Therapy/humor_therapy_benefits.htm http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=51918 http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/mypics/842948/display/8947296
NASA, WATCH OUT, they are coming! This is the cover of main Iranian National Newspapers which published today. After few years hard working, Iranian Aeronautics and Space Administration (IASA) managed to launch the first rocket into space to mark the opening of its first space center under the name of Kavoshgar on Monday, 4th Feb 2008 at 12:25pm. Few could not believe, but then many others were happy and proud of this first success program. Apparently IASA plans to launch the Omid Satellite, a Remote-Sensing Satellites in June 2008. http://www.space-travel.com/reports/Iran_opens_its_first_space_centre_riling_the_US_999.html http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=41713§ionid=351020101 http://www.redorbit.com/news/business/1240731/iran_to_launch_omid_satellite_in_june_08_to_build/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASA

It is winter in Iran. So if you travel to this beautiful country, you will see these street sellers selling hot beet root on the spot. Just careful not to burn your tongue!
Four traditional gigantic Budgirs (windcatchers) versus two tiny coolair systems! As you would see in my image, there are 4 traditional gigantic Budgirs are erected by genius Persian engineers hundreds years ago. Then if you look closely you would see 2 tiny modern coolair systems on that roof. Unfortunately most of Iranian people who live in hot-arid climate use new modern technology coolair systems instead of using the old traditional Budgirs! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windcatcher The sad story is that majority of Iranian people refuse to use this beautiful traditional Budgir, and then few smart a*** people like Mr William Stranks invent a modern system based on Budgir and name it as "Monodraught"! http://www.monodraught.com/windcatcher/about.php I guess people do NOT appreciate what their ancestors made for them and follow the modern complex technology instead!!
In harmony with the rebirth of nature, the Iranian New Year Celebration, or NOROOZ, always begins on the first day of spring. Norooz ceremonies are symbolic representations of two ancient concepts - the End and the Rebirth; or Good and Evil. The origins of Norooz are unknown, but they go back several thousand years predating the Achaemenian Dynasty. The ancient Iranians had a festival called "Farvardgan" which lasted ten days, and took place at the end of the solar year. It appears that this was a festival of sorrow and mourning, signifying the end of life while the festival of Norooz, at the beginning of spring signified rebirth, and was a time of great joy and celebration. I CONGRATULATE TO ALL IRANIAN PEOPLE ANYWHERE AROUND THIS MOTHER EARTH. ((Fara Residane Norooz-e Baztani Ra Be Shoma Va Khanevadeh Gerami Tabrik Gofteh Va Sali Pur As Salamati Va Shadkami Barayetan Arezoomandam.)) I HOPE IN THIS NEW YEAR [ 1387 ], YOU WILL HAVE A BEAUTIFUL PEACEFUL LIFE WITH GOOD HEALTH AND LOTS OF SUCCESS. EID-e Shoma Mubarak =================================== Tonite is 28th Esfand 1386 (18th March 2008). It is ChaharShanabeh Sori, where these days, young people spent their money for exploding small firecrackers for fun! I remember when I was younger, we had a peaceful ChaharShanabeh Sori without having fears of any casualties. ANYHOW, I perfered to stay with my dear computer and design a Eid card for the Iranian New Year. If you are curious to know, it took me almost 7 hours PS works with creating 27 layers! I should mention my computer crashed down twice which I had to re-do the works again.
There is NOT any customer’s right protection in Iran. Therefore many traders, technicians, companies treat customers based on lies and more lies ! These young people suppose to be as plumber worked for only 7.5 hours during 3 days and charged more than 360,000 Tomans ($400) for repairing a broken water pipe in one of my relative in Tehran. After few days the water was still running thru the walls. My relative called them for more than a month to visit her place and repair the water pipes. Each time they brought different excuses or empty promises and still there is damp every where. Because there is not any law enforcement in protecting the poor customers, then almost every technician get advantage from the system and make a big hat for poor customers. The proverb, “As must ke bar must!” means that we can not blame America or any other countries for our bad fortune! We should blame ourselves. http://www.ephotozine.com/u30254/gallery/766415 http://www.ephotozine.com/u30254/gallery/767481 http://www.ephotozine.com/u30254/gallery/773856 http://www.ephotozine.com/u30254/gallery/772144
Yawm-al Quds or Al-Quds Day is a day of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians and all oppressed people in general. All over the world rallies and marches are held on this day, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. The history of Quds Day dates back to the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran nearly 30 years ago. One of the first actions Imam Khomeini took as leader of the newly formed Islamic Republic was to cut off the supply of oil to the two apartheid regimes of Israel and South Africa and put sanctions on both of them. He inaugurated Al-Quds day as an integral part of Ramadan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world. Imam Khomeini, on 16th August 1979 inaugurated "The Day For The Oppressed" with the following words: “The Muslims of the world should view Quds Day not only as a day for all the Muslims of the world, but one for all the deprived, and from that sensitive point, they should stand against the oppressors and the world-plunderers and should not rest until the oppressed have been set free from the oppression of the power-wielders.” During Ramadan, when our minds (should) be focused on empathizing with those who are suffering, it is worth remembering that there are thousands of prisoners who will be celebrating Eid in captivity for no other crime than their faith, or their nationality, or their ethnicity, or their beliefs, or a bit of all or some of these reasons.” "Quds Day is the day for the weak and oppressed to confront the arrogant powers, the day for those nations suffering under the pressure of the superpowers and other powers to confront. I invite Muslims all over the globe to consecrate the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as 'Quds Day' and to proclaim the international solidarity of Muslims in support of the legitimate rights of the Muslim people of Palestine.” http://www.inminds.co.uk http://www.inminds.co.uk/qudsday2006.php http://www.inminds.co.uk/boycott-israel.php http://www.inminds.co.uk/download.php?id=67 http://www.ihrc.org.uk/file/qudsposter.pdf http://www.ezsoftech.com/ramadan/ramadan21.asp http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/quana_01_19_03.htm http://www.robert-fisk.com/articles18.htm
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. During the blessed month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during the daylight hours. As a time to purify the soul, refocus attention on God, and practice self-sacrifice, Ramadan is much more than just not eating and drinking. During Ramadan, every part of the body must be restrained. The tongue must be restrained from backbiting and gossip. The eyes must restrain themselves from looking at unlawful things. The hand must not touch or take anything that does not belong to it. The ears must refrain from listening to idle talk or obscene words. The feet must refrain from going to sinful places. In such a way, every part of the body observes the fast. Therefore, fasting is not merely physical, but is rather the total commitment of the person's body and soul to the spirit of the fast. Ramadan is a time to practice self-restraint; a time to cleanse the body and soul from impurities and re-focus one's self on the worship of God. So, what makes Iranian different..... ? Mr Ali Adhami, the board of directors in the Iran-Ecotour’s website says: "We guarantee well- equipped, selectively catered, safe and eco- friendly trips." http://www.ecotour-iran.com/about_new.htm On 10 August 2007, I took my mother and her friend on EcoTour’s one day trekking trip to Kondelus Village. Unfortunately the company hired a mini-bus driver who was not familiar with the road to Chaloos that has a series of dangerous winding sections and tunnels. As a result, the bus driver hit the wall of Tunnel No 6. As a result of the resulting huge impact, my mother fell over and was badly injured, she suffered shock of accident and injuries to her foot. My mother needed financial assistance for medical treatment, but Ecotours told us they would pay nothing towards the cost as all the expenses would be paid for by the driver’s Third Party Insurance. This contradicts what Ecotours have told passengers that whoever travels with them is insured for 1,000,000 tomans for hospital, doctors’ expenses. I feel that they contradict themselves because they try to escape from their responsibility toward my mother and myself and other passengers. Since 10/08/07, NOBODY from Iran-EcoTour Company (Dr Houman Jowkar, Dr Houshang Ziaie, Dr Bijan Farhang Darreh-shouri, Mr Ali Adhami), and tour leaders (Mr Mohamad Manzarnejad, Mrs Azadeh Jouhari, Mr Ali Islam) has contacted my mother by any means and asked her how she was! i.e.-Was she alive or dead ! Apparently one of the EcoTour's director cares more about Iranian Cheetah rather than take care of my old injured & traumatized mother!! I wonder what Iran-Ecotour's response would be if my mother had been a foreign tourist traveling with them? Do you think it would be different?

Are they clearner than us ! (Part 3) HERE, you can see the ADVANCED model in cleaning. I managed to see this advanced kind in just two places in Istanbul, and one place in small rich town in Germany. In this new system, not only it has an ADJUSTABLE metal nozzle, but the plastic COVER SEAT it changes by pressing that red button on the side of toilet. So here not only you can use the water in the right area, but also it prevents you NOT to take any VDs from the surface of toilet seat. So here not only we could save loads of toilet paper rolls and trees over years , but also prevent you to take any harmful germs from the previous occupier. If you are interested in viewing the evolution of this kind of toilets, then you could check the following links: http://www.ephotozine.com/u30254/gallery/654950 www.ephotozine.com/u30254/gallery/655679
This is a small section of huge place of Gogad Caravansary located in Mahallat in the province of Esfehun Nesfe Jahan. A 'caravan' in Persian means a group of travelers or merchants banded together and organized for mutual assistance and defense while traveling through unsettled or hostile country. Caravan trade is associated with the history of Iran and the Middle East. It is evident that all trade from one fertile area to another in this region had to be organized from the first, since long distances of desert trail separated settled parts and since local governments could not guarantee protection against tribes eager to loot and pillage. Such wares as jewels, spices, perfumes, dyes, metals, rare woods, ivory, oils, and textiles (chiefly silk) are associated with the trade. Camels were the main catties from Egypt and Iran to Mesopotamia and throughout the Arabian Peninsula. When you inquire the age of a caravansary in modern Iran, you are generally told that it dates from the time of Shah Abbas. This is a deceptive generalization and a term applied indiscriminately to all caravansaries built between the late 16th- 19th centuries AD. At present this beautiful historical place is rented to a private Iranian car company. The car company manage this place by converting it to a hotel.

Kale Pache is one of the delicious Iranian food. Many people from different age grriup eaat this delicious food in very early morning around 5am before they go to work or climb the mountains.
I dedicate this piece of my image to 'Darwin's Nightmare', and people of Mwanza. It was directed by an Austrian highly intelligent filmmaker Hubert Sauper who has a deep understanding of the political, social and economical complexities of the realities he is filming. His film was nominated for an Academy Award. In Darwin's Nightmare, Saupert transports us to Tanzania, to the small town of Mwanza on the shores of Africa's biggest lake Victoria. We learn that the town sees a lot of business because of the massive exports of a fish called the Nile Perch. This species of fish was not known in that lake before the 1960s when it was introduced to the lake. A predatory species, the fish multiplied, but also caused the extinction of other species to the point that the lake could be considered a mono culture. The export of the fish is seemingly good for the development of Mwanza because it gives jobs to tousands of people who work in a processing plant. Two airplanes come every day from Russia to this little town to load in 500 tons of frozen, packaged fish fillets and fly them back to the restaurants and dining rooms of Europe. The daily cargo could feed the little town for a long time, but the villagers don't get to see the fish fillets because after the fish has gone through he modern processing plant, they cannot afford the fish. Although millions of people in the Tanzanian interior live on the brink of famine. Some of them will eat fried fish heads, which are processed in vast open-air pits infested with maggots and scavenging birds. Along the shores of the lake, homeless children fight over scraps of food and get high from the fumes of melting plastic-foam containers used to pack the fish. In the encampments where the fishermen live, AIDS is rampant and the afflicted walk back to their villages to die. Unfortunately the fish business is a ........ http://www.darwinsnightmare.com/ http://www.1001productions.net/LM/DAR/Darwin1.html http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424024/
