Our iconic sign on the south end of 'The Strip' or LV Blvd South. This was the original highway to Los Angeles, now replace by I-15. Click on "L" for a better view of this photo or any of my photos.
I hit the lottery and bought myself a new set of wheels! Well, no. A HS friend of mine is seriously wealthy and customized this Chrysler 300-SRT8. A very wealthy guy from Dubai is negotiating to buy it and take it to his country.
Overview of Camp OJ. Simpson is being tried for kidnapping and theft. At the Palace Station last year, OJ and others took back some of his memorabilia. It was all caught on tape and his trial is now starting.
Some of the network trucks covering the OJ trial.
A couple of the charactors that are outside the OJ trial each day. Everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame.
In August I drove a car from Vegas to Boston for a friend, flew home. I stopped in Glenwood Springs my first night and visited the world's largest outdoor hot springs pool. Taken from pedestrian walkway that goes over I-70. Dates on summer 08 series altered to keep in sequence.
The Ute Indians called the hot springs, 'Yampah' or Big Medicine. Developed in 1888 as a hot pool for tourists. 3 millions gallons/day come out at 122F, they cool it to 104F with city water. Taken early the morning I left.
I stopped to tour the Amana Colonies, just off I-80, close to Iowa City. Founded by German immigrants in 1855, they set up a communal way of life.
Some of the items produced locally for sale to the tourists. The Amana Colonies are communal, but embrace modern inventions, unlike the Amish.
Ox Yoke Inn, Amana.
Village Fudge store, popular with the chocoholics. The Amana Colonies evoke an earlier time in American history.
Amana store selling wine, cheese, jelly. I bought several jars of preserves for family/friends.
Gardner Mass. is where a friend of mine lives. I stayed with him for a week before flying home to Vegas. Settled in 1764, Gardner came a furniture center for New England.
Gardner is the self described 'Chair City' of America. With abundant hardwood trees and streams around Gardner, it became a furniture center in the 1800s. At its peak Gardner had over 40 furniture factories. Standard Chair of Gardner, owned by my friend, is the last one still in business.

Casino of the Earth, summer valet entrance. You can win this Cobra replica sportscar if you hit the jackpot.
The unique front desk area of the Mohegan Sun Casino. I walked the whole casino area and took photos as my friend lost his money on video poker.
I took this from the second floor of the newer Casino of the Sky. This is Taughannick Falls Bar area.
Transition walkway between the older Casino of the Earth and the newer Casino of the Sky.
The older and darker, Casino of the Earth. Click on the "L" option for a better view of the wolf on top of the rock. Security lets you take photos as long as it is not of the actual casino area.
