The most unusual beach I've ever sat on. A motorway overpass and massive construction works going on before your very eyes!!!!!
Might be a useful place for traveluke to stay in Naha, Okinawa. About $10 USD per night, close to the beach?? and the downtown action on kokusai-dori is about a 15 minute walk away.
US Navy in town for R & R after Gulf duty
Found Mimpi Resort mentioned in LP so checked out the website. Rate for standard double room was $95USD but got it for $80USD (breakfast included) when I e-mailed them. Another $55USD to get there from Tuban but was well worth it. Up through Bedugal and head west into a part of Bali I've never visited before. Beautiful resort which was virtually empty except for the odd Japanese. This was the view every morning from the waterfront restaurant. Four volcanoes in your face (all on Java I think which is so so close).
Pemutaran Beach
Menjangan Island
Did the cycling tour - pickup at Tuban hotel at 7.30 a.m. up to Kintamani for refreshments then bike down to Ubud for lunch through the mountain villages then home for Bintangs at the pool bar. Cost 350,000 Rup (about $40 AUD) and second time we've done it and GREAT!!!. Stopped outside a village Hindu temple and it was specky.
Kuta Surfing - just taking a walk from Tuban up to Legian for lunch at our favourite restaurant and caught this guy dogsurfing. Looks like he had it well trained, cause it was at his feet when he caught the wave and he would instruct it when to walk up to the pointy end. There's always something worth looking at around Kuta!!
Looking North Towards Hillarys
Looking South Over Mettams Pool
Looking Towards Africa. Lots of snorkellers today.
What's with the large leather eye-patch?, and he/she had the Rising Sun flag stapled to the back of the tartan coat.
Eatery vending machine in Shibuya. Look at the numbered meal photos outside, pump your 100Y coins into the machine just in the door and grab the ticket when you press your preference. Hand to staff member and get a 44 gallon drum (well, almost that size!!!) of noodles in about 2 minutes flat. Replete with a very inelegant sufficiency for about 8 clams Australian. Don't forget to pump in 500Y for the beer ticket.
Last day at Fuji and she came through. About 7 a.m. and opened curtains to see this. Seems that Fuji has been shrouded with cloud for days before I got there.
Fuji was clear as a bell early morning of last day at Fuji so threw on the yukata and headed for the outdoor hot bath at the hotel. Had it all to myself and the view was immense. Must have spent about 30 minutes enjoying the view before heading off for breakfast on the outdoor terrace where the view was just as good.
Had a long soak in the hotel's outdoor hot bath after climbing a section of Mt. Fuji. God I needed it!!!!
Lovely little bit of woodland before you reach the empty slag.
After almost an hours hike the 6th station comes into view through the increasing cloud cover. I was so glad to see that I was almost there as I was starting to feel the cold.
