ITALY_Treviso - fontana delle tette

The tits fontain was built in 16th century on the order of Alvise Da Ponte, who was the mayor of the Republic of Venice at that time. Idea came after a severe drought that struck the city of Treviso and the surrounding countryside. Originally the statue was placed inside the Praetorian Palace, then removed to other place several times until it took its place in little yard of Zignoli House. In honor of each new coming Mayor - fountain flowed red wine from one breast and white wine from another breast, and all citizens could drink for free for 3 days.
