The Upper Falls plunge 1,430 ft (440 meters) from a hanging valley to the middle falls area. There is no view of the middle falls from the valley floor. Sometimes in the fall the Upper Falls may stop flowing entirely. Extreme rock climbers then attempt to climb the now dry Upper Falls.
