The photo was taken during my regular morning beach walk where I live at Ocean Grove, Victoria, Australia. The lighthouse is at Point Lonsdale at the mouth to Port Phillip Bay that leads to the city of Melbourne. The entrance (or The Rip as it's called) is just to the right of the lighthouse with hills on the other side of the Rip in the background.
The photo was taken on a Canon Compact Digital 6 Mega Pixel camera with a 4x zoom. This photo was taken using the extra digital zoom and gives it a slight texture to the waves. It was a cloudy morning and the sun had just came up and giving out a soft light through a gap in the clouds. The color has not been altered.
