Travel Photography Amphitheatre at Pompeii
The amphitheatre in Pompeii was old - 150 years older than the Colosseum in Rome, and it is the oldest still in existence. It was built around 70 BC by the two duumvirs Valgus and Porcius. It was out of date by the 79 AD, because for example it only had to entrances/exits and had no cellars or machinery under the arena. It could probably hold around 20,000 people.
