Going to Samarkand was one of my biggest traveler myths (if not the bigger) and getting there in the peak of the winter, with no other tourists in sight, with the amazing Registan all for myself, all covered in snow,with the chaikhanas being real warm places to shelter in and melt with a crowd of bearded old men wearing long cotton garments and covered with beautyfull leather hats...the experience of a lifetime... Wouldn´t say "once" in a lifetime,cos I hope to come back...
