The water level was very low when we were there. Normally, the whole side would have been covered with waterfalls.

Yes, we were there in May (early winter for South America) so the water level is generally low. This year it was especially low - only about 1/3 of average daily water flow.

What happened to the water? It seems that it has been a very dry period or not?
