Long An and Tien Giang, two provinces with the largest dragon fruit cultivation areas in the Mekong Delta, have 3,000ha of dragon fruit that meet Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) standards. In July,2008, the Vietnamese dragon fruit was given the green light to enter the US market, and in October, the first shipment of eight tons of the fruit began its slow sea journey to the US. Traditionally, the main export markets for Vietnamese dragon fruit have been China, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia
