©BAUER-GRIFFIN.COM US Airways commercial flight 1549, en route to North Carolina from La Guardia Airport, was forced to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River after striking a flock of geese disabling two of the aircraft's engines. All 153 passengers were rescued, some treated for minor injuries including hypothermia. Passengers recall hearing the pilot on the intercom saying "Prepare for Impact."
