For those who have trouble finding a good Tour Operator in Cusco, a jungle of T.O's, I want to recommend United Mice(unitedmi@terra.com.pe). I adore Peru and just came back from my 3rd trip and the best one yet. There are a multitude of treks to hike around Cusco but the problem is finding a good Tour Operator. Cusco has over 1000 Tour Operators and most of them are a rip-off (no professional guides, arrive late, no English, abandon the group, food-poisoning during treks, tents leak, ...) Going on such an adventure you have to go with knowledgeable people and well prepared. Unfortunately that wasn't always the case in my past trips to Peru. I recently hiked the Salkantay trek with United Mice and I must say that it was spectacular! The guides were very professional, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The food was amazing 8better than most restaurants), well paid porters... I highly recommend all that want to hike these beautifull landscapes to experience it with United Mice.
